The rule that two tables can be used in a only if they have the same number of columns and each pair of matching columns has the same type.
ئەو ڕێسایەیە کە دوو خشتە تەنها کاتێک دەتوانن لە بەکار بهێنرێن کە هەمان ژمارەی ستوونیان هەبێت و هەر جووتە ستوونێکی بەرامبەر هەمان جۆریان هەبێت.

Student(id, name) and Teacher(id, name) are union-compatible; Student(id, name) and Course(code, title, hours) are not.
