A connection between two nodes in a graph or a tree. In a graph database an edge is a named relationship, such as FRIEND_OF or BOUGHT, and can have properties; in a weighted graph every edge has a cost, such as the length of a road.

One entry for the edges of graphs, trees and graph databases (merge 2026-10-18): DBA.json's graph-edge and AI.json's edge were unified under this id. لێوار (edge, border) translates the English word; لق (branch) is the word for tree edges, هێڵ (line) is what students draw and کەوان (arc) follows "arc". The related ids graph, weighted-graph and step-cost come with the AI proposals (AI.json) and resolve once they are merged. Proposed.
