The sum of the numbers on the main diagonal of a square matrix: $\operatorname{tr} A = a_{11} + a_{22} + \cdots + a_{nn}$. The trace of a sum is the sum of the traces.

Note on the Kurdish termتێبینی دەربارەی زاراوە کوردییەکە

Id matrix-trace (not plain trace) because 'trace' has other meanings in IT (trace-table, traceback, stack trace). No established Kurdish word found; «کۆی تیرە» ('the diagonal sum') says what it is with registry words (main-diagonal = «تیرەی سەرەکی»). The plan (SP/dti/plan/matrices.md) called it trace. Proposed by MATW1; needs linguistic review.
