Definition
Software that gives its users four freedoms: to run it for any purpose, to study and change it (so the must be available), to share copies and to share changed copies. 'Free' means freedom, not price: free software may be sold.
Example

Proposed: ئازاد keeps the 'freedom' meaning of the Free Software Foundation's term and avoids confusion with freeware (بەرنامەی بێبەرانبەر = free of charge). Barzinji's بەرنامەی ئازاد is listed in the registry under open-source; a reviewer may move it here.
