A backslash plus a character that has a special meaning inside a string, such as \n (new line), \t (tab) or \" (a double quote). In PHP they work only in double-quoted strings, and \n breaks the line in the HTML source, not on the web page.

هێمای \ لەگەڵ نووسەیەک کە لەناو زنجیرەنووسەیەکدا واتایەکی تایبەتی هەیە، وەک \n (دێڕی نوێ)، \t ⁦(tab)⁩ یان \" (نیشانەی گوتەی جووت). لە PHPـدا تەنها لە زنجیرەنووسەی جووتەگوتەدا کار دەکەن و \n دێڕ لە کۆدی HTMLـدا دەشکێنێت، نەک لەسەر لاپەڕەی وێب.
