A sequence of characters, such as a word or a sentence, written inside single or double quotes: 'Hello' or "Hello". A number inside quotes, like "42", is also a string.
کۆمەڵێک نووسەیە (پیت، ژمارە، بۆشایی یان هێما) کە لەناو تاکە یان جووتە نیشانەی گوتە دەنووسرێت، وەک 'Hello' یان "Hello". ژمارەیەک لەناو نیشانەی گوتە، وەک "42"، ئەویش هەر زنجیرەنووسەیە.

Note on the Kurdish termتێبینی دەربارەی زاراوە کوردییەکە
The notes' glossary uses زنجیرەنووسە ("chain of characters"); this site's chapter summary says دەق and many teachers say سترینگ. Sozyar Osman's CS book calls a string ڕستە (this registry's word for 'statement'); the Kurdish scientists' dictionary uses نووسە for 'character', the root of زنجیرەنووسە.
