A number that can be positive or negative. In binary, one bit (the sign bit) shows the sign.

«نیشانە» is the maths word for the + and − signs; Barzinji's computer dictionary («فەرهەنگی کۆمپیوتەر») (p. 145) explains Sign as «هێمای پۆزەتیڤ یان نەگەتیڤ». the KRG school maths glossary (grades 7–12): positive = «موجەب», negative = «سالب».
