The minor $M_{ij}$ of the entry $a_{ij}$ is the determinant of the smaller matrix left after deleting row i and column j.

Id matrix-minor (not plain minor) so the id cannot be confused with other uses of 'minor' (e.g. minor versions); the plan called it minor. Loanword as used in Kurdish university maths; «دیتەرمینانتی بچووک» describes it. Proposed by MATW1; needs linguistic review.
