The mean of the squared deviations from the mean: $\sigma^2 = \frac{\sum (x_i - \mu)^2}{N}$ for a population. For a random variable, $\sigma^2 = E(X^2) - [E(X)]^2$.

ناوەندی دووجای لادانەکانە لە ناوەند: بۆ کۆمەڵگە $\sigma^2 = \frac{\sum (x_i - \mu)^2}{N}$. بۆ گۆڕاوێکی هەڕەمەکی، $\sigma^2 = E(X^2) - [E(X)]^2$.

For 2, 4, 6 (mean 4): $(4 + 0 + 4)/3 = 2.67$.
