Keeping data secret from everyone who is not allowed to see it. Losing it means that company secrets or personal details become known to outsiders.

Sozyar Osman's CS book (S2, p. 66) prints بەنهێنی مانەوە for confidentiality in the security triad (confidentiality, integrity, availability). The registry's privacy (تایبەتێتی) is a person's right; confidentiality is keeping the data secret.
