The name or number used to find a value in a dictionary, a map, an or a . In person["age"], "age" is the key; keys can be strings or numbers, and each key appears only once.

ئەو ناو یان ژمارەیەیە کە بۆ دۆزینەوەی نرخێک لە فەرهەنگ، map، یان بەکار دێت. لە person["age"]ـدا، "age" کلیلەکەیە؛ کلیل دەکرێت زنجیرەنووسە یان ژمارە بێت و هەر کلیلێک تەنها یەک جار دێت.

وەک وشەیەک لە فەرهەنگدا: بە کلیلەکە دەگەڕێیت و نرخەکەی دەدۆزیتەوە.

Note on the Kurdish termتێبینی دەربارەی زاراوە کوردییەکە

From the Latin-script notes: «'key' klilakaya bo dastkawtni 'nrx'» (the key is the key for reaching the value). Barzinji's dictionary also gives کلیل for Key.
