A chart of separate bars, one for each category, with gaps between them. It is used for qualitative data.

School term in the Kurdistan Region school maths glossary «ووشە بیرکارییەکان» (rezan2.wordpress.com, compiled from the grade 7–12 maths curriculum; opened 2026-10-22): «ئەستونی ڕوونکردنەوەیی» (bar diagram), kept as an alternative. Statistics needs its own id: a bar chart is for categories and is not a histogram.
