A finite list of clear steps that solves a problem or does a task. Programmers often plan an algorithm with or a before they write the code.

Note on the Kurdish termتێبینی دەربارەی زاراوە کوردییەکە
Decision 8 (AI course, 2026-10-17): the site owner always writes ئەلگۆریزم (file title «ئەلگۆریزمەکان», the simulated-annealing paper, the alpha-beta article, Lec6 notes), so it becomes the primary spelling site-wide. S2 (زانستی کۆمپیوتەر) prints all three spellings, ئەلگۆریسم، ئەلگۆریزم and ئەلگۆریتم, and its course table writes «شیکارکردنی ئەلگۆریزمەکان». The previous primary ئەلگۆریتم is kept as an alternative. The owner's Kurdish binary-to-decimal report calls its algorithm part «هەنگاونامە (Algorithm)»; by decision 6 (Fundamentals of Programming) the registry spelling stays primary and هەنگاونامە is an alternative.
