In mathematics, a collection of different things, called elements, with no order: {tea, coffee} is the same set as {coffee, tea}, and no element appears twice. Relational algebra treats every relation (table) as a set of rows.

Added at the merge (2026-10-18) for relational algebra, which treats tables as sets. کۆمەڵە is the set of school mathematics and the word the DBA writers already use (set-operation: کرداری کۆمەڵە); Barzinji (S4, p. 67/56) also gives کۆمەڵە beside سێت for "data set". Not the Python set of the AI course (python-set), a data structure that uses the same Kurdish word.
