What a computer system, a website or an app keeps about one user, such as your Microsoft account in Office or your account on a shopping website: a user name, a way to prove who you are (usually a , stored only as a hash) and your settings. A website keeps each account as one row in a users table.

Note on the Kurdish termتێبینی دەربارەی زاراوە کوردییەکە
Uses the standard بەکارهێنەر (user), as in نێوخستەی بەکارهێنەر; the course notes write بەکارهێن. هەژمار is the usual Kurdish word for an online account. The Kurdish scientists' dictionary uses هەژمار for an online account («کردنەوەی هەژمار»); Barzinji's dictionary gives هەژمار for 'account' and بەکارهێنەر for 'user'. Generalised at the merge (2026-10-18): the definition was website-specific, but the PowerPoint course uses the term for the Office Account page. A database account inside a DBMS is the separate entry db-user-account.
