Welcome to Database Administration. This course is a step-by-step guide that takes you from raw data to a secure database in the cloud. You will learn what a is, how one is designed, and how a (DBA) keeps it safe.

Why a database administrator mattersبۆچی بەڕێوەبەری بنکەدراوە گرنگە
- Data is a valuable resource. Every bank, hospital, school and shop runs on its data. If the data is lost, the organisation stops.
- Somebody has to look after it. That person is the , or DBA. A DBA designs the database, protects it, backs it up and gives people access to it.
- It is a real career. DBA skills are needed everywhere, because nearly every organisation now keeps its records in a database.

Think of the person who looks after the records room of a big school. They decide how the register books are arranged, they lock the door, they give the key only to staff who need it, and they keep a second copy of the most important books in another building. A DBA does the same work for a database.

A DBA works with software, not paper. Thousands of people may use the database at the same moment, copies are made automatically, and in a large organisation the DBA is often a whole team.

How this course worksئەم کۆرسە چۆن کار دەکات
- Plain English first. Every technical term keeps its proper name, because you will meet those names in exams and at work. But the explanation next to it is written as simply as possible.
- Terms you can tap. In the Kurdish text, a technical term shows its English name in brackets the first time. Tap any term to read its definition.
- Pictures on the screens. The diagrams of the course are redrawn in English and Kurdish, so you can see exactly what the words describe. Study the picture and the words together.

Think of a public library. Loose pages of notes are like data: facts with no order. The library, with its shelves and numbering system, is like a database: everything has a place, so any book can be found quickly. The librarian who finds, lends, returns and protects the books is like the DBMS.

A DBMS is software, not a person. It answers thousands of requests in a second, and it can also check every new value before it is stored.
